Dragon Ball Z - Legendaere Superkaempfer: Review

Dragon Ball Z - Legendaerer Superkaempfer is a card game set in the famous Dragon Ball Z Universe covering the plot from the first contact with the alien sayajin race to the end of the boo saga. The player takes place in the legendary fights of Son-Goku and his friends (including Son-Gohan, Piccollo, Vegeta etc) against Freezer, Cell, Boo and many more.

The battle systems is basically a round-based card game that requires strategic thinking and sleight of hand at the same time. While in the attack phases the player needs to put in given button combination as fast and correct as possible, the defense phases ask for the right anticipation of the enemy's moves since you have to choose the right position and defence to block efficiently. By gaining points through successful blocks and attacks the powerful and popular super attacks like Son-Goku's Kame-Hame-Ha and Genkidama are enabled depending on your character. Also you are able to purchase new moves and customize your deck to develop your own fighting style.

Further on in the game you will confronted with team tag battles that add a new strategic aspect into the gameplay and more and more characters will be unlocked. These come in handy when you decide to tackle the extremly difficult challenge mode where you encounter random friends and foes of the Z team.

Additionally there is a multiplayer option that lets you test your skills against one of your friends or trade cards provided you both own the game and a linking cable.
