Arabian Nights - Sabaku no Seirei Ou: Review

This is a traditional role playing game where you control a young girl that wants nothing more than to bring peace to the land. This title was made specifically for the super Famicom console. The story begins by showing how the king of Djinns Ifrit is defeated by a man named Suleiman and made into a servant to teach him humility and kindness. Some unknown force attacks their home and Suleiman quickly seals Ifrit inside a contract ring which scatters his powers across the world. To be free again he must grant 1,000 wishes and seek out his powers sealed inside magic gems. The adventure begins once your main character comes across the ring 100 years later. The game has an interesting battle command called cards, in addition to common battle commands. It lays down a condition that either helps the user with higher strength/agility or hurts the opponent with damage/reduction of abilities. They come in levels from 1-5 with 1 being the best and 5 the worst, this is because the enemy can also use them and a level 5 beats 1. This is an amazing gem that never made it to the US/PAL regions, but if you get the chance, play this fun RPG with a lighthearted and engaging storyline.
