International Superstar Soccer 2000: Review

This is, in my humble opinion, the best soccer game to grace the face of this beautiful planet. Even newer, more shiny games pale in comparison to the pure fun you can have with it.

It's soccer, so there's not much need for explanations. However, there's some things that need to be stressed. The commentary is good, easily as good as the recent games, despite this being an N64 cart. Also the crowd sounds more lively than recent games.

A small, relatively unknown quality is the 3 referees. There's the VERY lenient Hasegawa, the normal Heinz and the card-prone Carlos.

Returning from the prevous game is the player creation/renaming option so you can not only correct the goofy player names, but you can create your own team of friends/family and replace those amateurs of the world teams! There's also the scenario mode, where you can prove how well you know the game, as well as the deep, DEEP tactics and formations management options.

Also, there's a very peculiar RPG mode which plays much like a japanese visual novel, with interspersed soccer matches. Curious, to say the least. Play it, love it, worship it!
